2025 is coming to an end, and what a year it’s been!
We’ve hosted some fantastic events, added some new brands to our portfolio, and celebrated our 18th Birthday! To all of our loyal supporters who make this all possible – we cannot thank you enough.
Here’s a recap of what might have been Grey St. Optician’s best year yet…
January
We kicked off the year in the most colourful way, as we officially partnered with Marma Lenses. Marma have the ability to take frames to the next level with their phenomenal range of lens colours, tints and treatments. Of course we all had to try them for ourselves. Who knew lenses could be so exciting!
We partied with our friends at Pilgrim at their opening night…
And we took Frederike to the pantomine (but the least said about that the better!)
February
Our first big restock of the year! We had so much fun catching up with Akoni, Theo and Kaleos.
AND we met with Chrome Hearts to plan our next partnership…
March
Chrome Hearts are the epitome of luxury eyewear and they’re the perfect addition to our portfolio. In March we hosted a VIP Launch Event; inviting guests to explore this exclusive collection and pre-order from the latest series.
If you’re yet to see this outstanding collection, you really must check it out. They are truly something else.
April
Our friends at Specs for Africa collected bags and bags of pre-loved specs; kindly donated by you.
May
We launched our latest edition of cleaning cloths! These were designed by our very own Clover, inspired by our interior and diverse range of frames. If you missed our conversation with Cover, you can catch up here: GSO x Clover Nash LIMITED EDITION Lens Cloths

To celebrate the start of summer, our doorway was adorned in flowers by local company Pretty Picture Co.
There’s nothing quite like summer in the city of Newcastle. We loved this vibrant look!
July
We marked 15 years of Garrett Leight California Optical with a special GLCO Showcase event. GLCO have been a best-seller of ours since they launched and we loved being able to celebrate with you all.
August
We were featured in NE1’s Loved and Local series; a celebration of Newcastle’s finest independent businesses. What an honour! If you missed it, you can head to our instagram to watch.
September
Our 18th birthday!
We travelled to Paris in search of exquisite eyewear. We found it in abundance, and of course, we brought the very best back to Newcastle upon Tyne.
This annual trip is always the perfect opportunity to catch up with our Eyewear Industry friends. In 2025 we were invited to celebrate with Ahlem, at the Palais Galliera and had exclusive access to the Rick Owens exhibition. We enjoyed a drink under the lights of the Eiffel Tower.

Our Parisian purchases started to land!
November
For our third event of 2025, we invited our clients to Experience Kuboraum – a celebration of innovative eyewear design. These in-store trunk shows are so much fun. We love being able to share this with our clients. We’re already planning our events for next year and, trust us, they’re going to be awesome.
December
And now here we are – another year on Grey St. all wrapped up!
We celebrated with a visit to the newly-opened Stack followed by an incredible meal at our fave Hibou Blanc.
